This is one of those things that most affiliate marketers completely miss. It’s what separates the men from boys. It’s where the TOP affiliates make their money and those who are just scratching a living struggle. You need to find offers that offer a subscription program as part of their sales funnel.

With Clickbank it’s really easy to find these products.Just do this:

  1. Go to clickbank.com/marketplace and use their Advanced Filter search:

clickbank advanced research

2. Then Select Recurring Billing Products:

clickbank recurring products filter

That will return all the products in the Clickbank database with recurring billing products. What this means, is that if a customer buys a product that has recurring billing, you’ll continue for to receive commissions for as long as that customer is a paying member.

This is about as passive as it gets!

All you have to do is make the sale ONCE and you get paid over and over again. That’s an easy, passive affiliate income for you!

TIP: See video in members area for the EXACT steps. Watch over my shoulder as I do it!

Again, it’s all about “numbers”.

Which of these is best…

Promoting an affiliate product that pays you a flat commission ONCE. Promoting an Affiliate product that pays you a flat commission several times without doing any additional work? I(t’s not hard to see which one is the better option for you as an affiliate marketer.

Also, look at this way, if you’re running paid traffic, it’s better to promote recurring billing products as the same traffic will pay over and over, instead of constantly having to make new sales.

Buyers Go For The Bonuses, Not The Paint On The Wall!

Effective bonuses all have this:

  • They’re valuable. Your bonus should be something that somebody would gladly pay for. In other words, it should be something you could actually sell on it’s own.
  • They’re in-demand. It needs to be something your audience will actually WANT. Nobody wants useless trash, your audience certainly won’t.
  • They’re highly related to the main offer. It has to be related to the offer you’re actually promoting. The best bonuses are things they can use together.
  • They’re easy-to-deliver. Make sure it’s easy to deliver so that high volume sales doesn’t screw your campaign focus.

People aren’t going to buy with your affiliate links just because your website is nice and pretty. Nope! (And I realise graphic designers will tell you otherwise). The only thing people care about is themselves and what they get.

That’s it.

In the eyes of the buyer, nothing else matters. You probably already know that one quick and easy way to beat your competing affiliates is to add value to the products and services you promote.

So while your affiliates are just promoting the offer as-is, you’re giving your customers a valuable bonus but only if they buy from you.

What Makes Bonuses So Effective?

People think they’re getting more bang for their buck. That’s it. There’s no voodoo here. It gives them added motivation to make that purchase.

What Bonuses Should You Give Away?

When you’re promoting a solid affiliate offer, you’ll have competition. One way to both beat them out and jack your affiliate commissions sky high is by offering “must have” bonuses.

Here’s the key: You need to offer something that’s highly related to the main offer. It should be something that makes using the main product easier or better. Preferably both.

Here are some principles to follow in giving away bonuses that pay for themselves:

First, they should be connected to the affiliate product. eg: You’re promoting a bodybuilding training manual, offer some bodybuilding meal plans. Just remember, it needs to be closely related to the affiliate product you’re promoting. I find my best bonuses almost always fall into one of the categories below:

  • discounts or special deals to your own products
  • educational material like web courses
  • digital content

If you don’t have products, that is okay! There are other options:

  • Personal coaching
  • Partnerships with other product providers
  • Purchasing alternative products for them

More ideas:

  • Ebooks or reports.
  • Videos.
  • Audios.
  • Access to membership sites.
  • Access to a private group.
  • Coaching/consulting.
  • Done-for-you offers or services.
  • Webinars.
  • Checklists.
  • Worksheets.
  • Templates.
  • Swipes.
  • Cheat sheets.

Every affiliate thinks they know how to use bonuses but most are getting it wrong. You don’t need to have any wild bonuses, just make them something people actually want. A half-decent bonus and incentive strategy can absolutely skyrocket your profits.

Give your bonus a deadline

This is easy as having a countdown timer on your bonus pages. The idea here is, you don’t want people to think “I’ll come back to it tomorrow” ..if they leave your site they’re gone. Make it end fairly imminently.

Tip: My own data tells me 3hrs works insanely well.

Tip: Usually this is a manual process, meaning that your customers send you a receipt and you send them the bonus. You can automate this process using something like https://bonuspress.com.

There are lots of options available at your disposal. The important thing is this: you offer an bonus for those ordering through your link.

I’ll just say this: Bonuses work like crazy if you get them right. Remember, you don’t need to offer anything crazy, it just needs to be something people want and can use.
